Americana DuraClear Gloss Varnish – 59ml (DS19-3)

Americana's DuraClear Gloss is a high-quality, water-based polyurethane varnish that forms a clear, satin finish. It's non-yellowing and fast-drying , allowing you to quickly finish projects without a yellowish cast. Thanks to its hard yet flexible film, the finish is resistant to abrasion, moisture stains , and common household chemicals (such as alcohol).

The formula doesn't drip , doesn't leave brush marks , and is low-odor and non-toxic – making it pleasant to work with, even indoors. Ideal for decorative projects, furniture, and artwork that needs extra protection.

Application & instructions

1. Prepare the surface – Make sure the surface is clean, dry, dust-free, and grease-free . Apply only over fully cured paint.

2. Stir, do not shake – Mix the varnish gently to avoid creating air bubbles.

3. Apply in thin coats – Use a soft varnish brush or foam roller and work in long, even strokes.

4. Multiple coats – Apply 2–3 thin coats for optimal protection. Let each coat dry thoroughly.

5. Lightly sand between coats (optional) – Fine sandpaper (± P400–600) for an extra smooth result; remove dust and apply the next coat.

6. Curing – Allow the object to harden sufficiently after the final coat before using it intensively (depending on the layer thickness and conditions).

Tip: Always test on an inconspicuous area first .

Suitable substrates: hard, non-porous or well-sealed surfaces such as wood , (sealed) canvas/panel , MDF , metal (pre-treated) , ceramic (decorative) , plexiglass/acrylic and terracotta .
